About Steven Reder

Steven Reder was born in 1974 and grew up in rural Minnesota. He obtained a journalism degree from South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD, in 1998.

Reder has worked in the journalism field for 17 years, earning Spotlight on Excellence Awards in 2000-2006, 2008-2009 and 2016-2017. He also won the Spotlight on Excellence Award of Merit for Feature Story  in 2006.

The idea for God Is Your Roommate came when Reder wanted to write something that had practical value to Christians. Rather than focus on mountain-top experiences, Reder wanted to focus on down-to-earth reality. The lessons of God Is Your Roommate apply to more than just college and students. They apply to the world at large and adults.
